Our Story
We're a family-run business creating every product by hand, with love, using natural, wholesome ingredients. In today's world, Selfcare isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. We believe in nurturing our skin, bodies, minds, and souls with pure intentional products that support healing from the inside out.
Our journey began during a time of transformation. After the end of a 22 year relationship, I found myself a single mother to my two daughters. As we adjusted to life as a family of three, we searched for ways to reconnect and heal. What started as a simple, fun distraction, making sugar scrubs and bath bombs in our kitchen, quickly became something much more. We found peace in the process, joy in our time together, and comfort in using natural, skin loving ingredients. We shared them with others, and soon began receiving requests for products tailored to specific skin needs.
I immersed myself in researching the benefits of natural ingredients, learning to make our own oils and sourcing everything locally whenever possible. We'd go on hikes together, gathering herbs and plants, laughing and bonding, knowing those moments, and those ingredients, would become part of something healing and meaningful.
What began as a way to care for ourselves has blossomed into a journey of helping others do the same. It's been an ongoing path of healing, growth, and connection not only within our family, but with the beautiful community that continues to support us.
This adventure has changed our lives in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. Through the Selfcare this journey encouraged, I found myself healthier, more peaceful physically, emotionally, and spiritually. That growth and healing opened my
heart to something even more wonderful: a reconnection with an old friend, which has blossomed into a beautiful, loving relationship that has brought so much joy and stability to our lives.
I am endlessly grateful, not just for the journey we started, but for where it led us. I truly believe that if I hadn't taken the time to slow down and heal I wouldn't have found the happiness and love I have today. This path, which began with just the three of
us, has now come full circle. We've found our "fourth," and our little family feels whole again, only now, we're stronger, wiser and more grounded.
When we give ourselves the space to heal and put ourselves out there with honesty and intention, the universe answers. And when it does, it brings more than we ever imagined
possible.
Our name, Homemade by the mrs, is a playful nod to our initials: Mackenzie, Roxanne and Shyann. It represents the heart of who we are, three ladies healing together, creating with love, and sharing that love in every single jar, bottle, and blend.
